Obituary for Junior Darrol Copeland
Junior Darrol Copeland, age 77, of Ballard, formerly of Lumberton, NC, passed away Monday, August 24, 2020. He was born in Lindside, WV on November 14, 1942 to the late Oscar and Mary Lester Copeland.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Frances Huggins Copeland; a son, Reggie Copeland; a brother, Earl Copeland; and three sisters: Ann Copeland, Bonnie Copeland, and Meroni Copeland Hunt. A special aunt Gladys Long that he made his home with in Monroe County. Junior attended the Community Family Worship Center in Peterstown.
He is survived by one son, Thuron Keith Copeland (Ruth) of Lumberton, NC; one brother, Ernest Copeland (Jonie) of Wilmington, NC; two sisters, Joan Copeland and Cathy Copeland, both of Arizona; a step-granddaughter, Kayla Priest (Jonathan) of Lumberton, NC; a step-grandson, Jordan Nance of Lumberton, NC; and three step-great-grandchildren: Kayleigh Priest, Hayleigh Priest, and Jayleigh Priest. Special cousin Thelma and husband HW Carr of Lindside. Many cousins and friends here in Monroe County.
A graveside service will be held on Thursday, August 27, 2020, at 3:00 PM at New Hollywood Cemetery in Lumberton, NC with Rev. Russell Kinlaw, Jr. officiating.
