Obituary for James Burl "J.B." Reece

James Burl Reece (“Burl”, “J.B.”) of Lindside, WV passed from this life on February 5, 2020 at Heritage Hall in Rich Creek, VA following a long illness. Born March 8, 1933 in Mead, WV, he was the oldest of seven children born to Wiley Sr. and Delphia Graybeal Reece. He is survived by his three children, Lisa Hart (David) of Eaton, OH, Randy Reece of Findlay, OH, and Glenn (Jamie) Reece of West Alexandria, OH, and is also survived by the mother of his children and former wife Patricia Reece of Dayton, OH. Also surviving Burl are his six siblings, Betty Burwell, Beulah Long, C.L. (Roberta) Reece, Richard (Wanda) Reece, Bonnie Lilly, and Wiley Jr. (Carol) Reece, along with eight grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. Burl spent most of his working years as a factory worker. He was a member of the NRA and was an avid collector of guns. He enjoyed the outdoors and hunting and going to flea markets to add to his collections. Burl also loved to study the Bible. Early in life he was baptized into the Old German Baptist Brethren Church, and later in life attended the Peterstown Pentecostal Holiness Church. Funeral services will be held 10:30 AM Saturday February 8, 2020 at Wickline Funeral Home in Lindside with Elder Dan Sowers and Elder Richard Reece officiating. Burial will follow at Karnes Cemetery on Rich Creek Valley Road. Family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home on Friday February 7, 2020.
