Wallace L. Lester, 83 of Jumping Branch and formerly of Ballard, WV passed away Monday July 30, 2018 at the home of his daughter.
Born March 18, 1935 in Anawalt, WV he was a son of the late William and Irene Gallimore Lester. Mr. Lester was a retired truck driver and a Marine Veteran serving during the Korean War. He was of the Baptist faith, he loved to fish and collected many different items.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife of 59 years Rowena Honaker Lester, his only son Bradford L. Lester, three brothers William, Walter Bobby (Dubby), and Wayne (Bean) Lester, two sisters Judy Lester Wolfe and Janet Beverly Lester.
Left to cherish his memory are five daughters; Beverly Gwynn of Kernersville, NC, Amanda (Charles) Weikle of Union, Erin (Brian) Copenhaver of Bluefield, Jessica Ackelson of Peterstown, Andrea (Sonny) Stracener of Jumping Branch, Daughter in law Jane Lester of Ballard. Grandchildren Rachel Lester of Ballard, Jordan Weikle of Union, Tristan, Olivia and Abby Copenhaver of Bluefield, Josiah and Josie Ackelson of Peterstown, Seth, Michael & Kristen, Hunter Adkins, Chris Stracener of Jumping Branch . Sister-in-laws Barbara (William) Lester of Tazewell, VA, Mary Beth (Wayne) Lester of Apex, NC. Brother-in-laws David & Becky Honaker of Princeton, Daniel & Anita Honaker of Blytheville AK, Joe Honaker of Charleston WV, and Sammy Honaker Cox of Bluewell. Several neices and nephews. Special thanks to Dr. Stanley Day and Alisa Lane of Hinton for such loving care.
Mr. Lester will be cremated and a private family service held at a later date with Military Honors.
