Darrell C. Ballard, 67 of Rt. 2 Box 440 Peterstown, WV passed away Sunday March 20, 2016 at Giles Community Hospital in Pearisburg, VA
Born July 31, 1948 in Princeton, WV he was the son of the late Campbell Stratton and Launa Smith Ballard. Darrell owned and operated Ballard Construction Company in Peterstown, and had graduated from the Hobart School of Welding in Ohio. He was a member of the First Missionary Baptist Church in Ballard.
Darrell is survived by his wife of 49 years Linda Ballard of the home, one son John Ballard and wife Patricia of Peterstown, one daughter Rebecca Meadows and husband Jason of Ballard, one sister Cheryl Howdock and husband Steve of Peterstown, 11 Grand and Great-Grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday March 23, 2016 at 2PM at Wickline Funeral Home in Lindside with Pastor Steve Howdock officiating. Burial will follow at Orchard Cemetery in Ballard. Tommy Shires, John Ballard, Bryan Meadows, Steven Howdock, Phil Clark, Wayne Sibold and Gary Fuller will serve as pallbearers.
